Stuff That’s Helped Me Stay Alive (or at least functional)
Welcome to the part of my blog where I put all the links, tools, and lifelines that have made existing a little more bearable. These aren’t affiliate links, just things I’ve personally used, found, or wish I had sooner.
If you’re in crisis, scroll straight to the Emergency Support section.
π± Mental Health Apps
These are apps I’ve used when I’m spiralling, trying not to text my ex, or needing to ground myself:
- DBT Coach – DBT skills on your phone, because I forget everything I’ve ever learned the moment I need it.
- Moodnotes – for tracking your thoughts before they hijack your whole day
- Woebot – a weird little chatbot that lowkey saved me once when the crisis line had me on hold…
- Finch – emotional support bird app that makes self – care feel less cringe
π BPD + Mental Health Reads
Things that made me feel less alone or helped me make sense of my brain:
- The Borderline Personality Disorder Workbook by Daniel J. Fox
- I Hate You, Don’t Leave Me by Jerold J. Kreisman & Hal Straus
- Stop Walking on Eggshells (for you AND the people you push away)
- Attached by Amir Levine (because attachment theory = BPD core)
- The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
π§ Podcasts & YouTube Channels
For when reading is too much and you need someone to talk at you:
- Back from the Borderline – deep dives on BPD recovery, trauma, & self sabotage
- Therapy in a Nutshell (YouTube) – mental health explained without sounding like a TED Talk
- The Sad Bitch Chronicles – validating af
π» Online Communities
Safe-ish places to lurk or connect:
- r/BPD on reddit – chaotic but real
- The Mighty – mental health stories from people who’ve been through it
- BPD Beautiful (website) – recovery focused and actually encouraging
- Instagram/Threads – follow creators who talk about BPD openly (I’ll list my faves soon)

ποΈ Random Shit That Helps
Sometimes healing is a weighted blanket and noise cancelling headphones:
- Weighted blanket – because pressure = peace
- Loop earplugs – for sensory overload or tuning out the void
- Fidget rings – for not texting people you swore off
- Cute journals – even if you only write in them once every 4 months
